Architecture...art...immersive meditative space... It's difficult to come up with words to describe the beauty of To Breathe - A Mirror Woman, a 2006 site-specific installation by Korean artist Kimsooja. By amplifying light's prismatic reflectivity, the artist transformed a late 19th-century glass pavilion located in Madrid's Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía into an architectural world of specular reflection suffused with kaleidoscopic color and shimmering light. While the 19th-century structure still stands within the park, sadly it no longer houses this installation. Gorgeous photos of the work still can be seen, however; samples of which appear below. Enjoy.
